The start of day 7 has me actually up half a pound. I’m not exactly sure why. Maybe because yesterday was Sunday and I didn’t do enough walking; maybe I didn’t drink enough water; maybe that teaspoon of sugar. Who knows? The bottom line is that I am down 3.3 lbs for my first week. Not sure if that is normal or not. People say that you lose more weight in the first week. I suppose that if I had lost 5-10 lbs I would be more concerned. As long as I keep losing 1.5 – 2.0 lbs each week I will be satisfied. I’m looking for a loss of 20 lbs (+/-) by the end of 14 weeks.
The Rapid Results plan says that you can lose up to 17 lbs in 4 weeks. (It’s the “up to” part that obviously keeps them out of legal hot water.) But what I want to know is how much of the implication is REALLY true? If I kept up the same exact weight loss each week, it would only add up to 13.2 lbs … so the essence of that claim seems to be on a bit of shaky ground.
Despite getting out of bed a 1/2 hour early this morning, I’m still running late. Forgot to put together my lunch last night so I end up in a rush. I decided that I will have to eat breakfast at work. So as I head out the door, I grabbed an actual cup of coffee .. yes, with cream & 1 tsp of sugar. Hey, I am human ya’ know.
The Mixed Berry Bars* ($2.69) are ok, not that filling. If not for the shake & fruit I would probably be hungry this morning. But, turns out, I’m not. So, that’s good.
In my haste to get out the door this morning I forgot to pack some dressing for my salad. The only thing we had in the office was some regular Olive Oil. I can’t stand to just eat lettuce plain, so my only choices were to either not eat it at all or try it with just a touch of Olive Oil, which I did. Well, that didn’t work out too good. I only ate a few bites. Hopefully the snack at 3:00 will make up for it.
Used my own cooking plan to heat up the Spaghetti & Meatballs* ($7.69). I could tell that this would have been one of those times where the meal would have ended up nasty if I followed their cooking instructions because all the sauce was on one side of the package.
The Chicken Street Tacos* ($7.59) for dinner tonight may be the best Jenny Craig meal I have had so far. At first glance when you open the package you don’t think much of it. Mostly one big klob of filling all frozen together and two tacos. But then you realize that there are actually 4 corn tortillas.
Since the meal also includes veg & one healthy fat, I see opportunity to kick this one up a notch.
I had to nuke the tacos for about 20 seconds to get the filling to separate. Then, put the filling in a skillet to saute it up. Meanwhile, in my wok I got another 1/2 bag of pepper blend. (Man, I love those.
A real lifesaver.) 5 or 10 minutes of saute for the filling. Another 20 seconds in the micro for the tortillas to soften them up … and done.
Topped them off with 1/2 an avocado (maybe a day or two past it’s prime) and a little sriracha for some kick (not shown). Now we have a dinner that is satisfying and didn’t break the rules. (Well, maybe a bit on the sriracha.)
