Wow, down seven pounds! Now I’m finally starting to feel like I’m losing weight. It’s taken 18 days to get here, but finally starting to feel a bit of satisfaction. I’ll be severely bummed out if tomorrow I’ve somehow gained any of it back.

If you are into oatmeal, then you will probably like the Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal* ($3.89). Unfortunately, I’m not into oatmeal. In the past, the only way I could eat it was to literally spread sugar all over it. But since I’m not going to do that, I just stomach it down.

Lunch today was not that great. The Roasted Turkey Medallions* ($7.69) didn’t have any flavor in the Turkey. The sauce was ok but contained all the flavor. There was almost no “Turkey” taste.

For dinner tonight I decided to channel my inner chef with the Chicken Burrito* ($6.59). First I saute’d up my 3 pepper blend. Then cooked the burrito as directed, cut it open and tossed the burrito guts in with the peppers to blend it up. (honestly, there was very little filling in that thing). The tortilla ‘shell’ of the burrito was chewy (as expected) so rather than try to turn it into a tortilla chip, which was my first plan, I just tossed it in the trash.

I then pulled off some leaves off a head of lettuce to make a wrap. In goes my burrito-pepper blend. I topped it with half an avocado, (diced) and a bit of sriracha. Now this is something worth eating! I got two tasty lettuce wraps instead of one nasty burrito.

Tonight is poker night at the Pipkins’ house.  We typically serve up some hors d’oeuvre and drinks and our guests usually bring some deserts to share. My wife made up some bread-less, BLT’s. Little bacon squares, Lettuce & a cherry tomato on a toothpick. It was delish but I limited myself to just one. Our guests gobbled the rest of them up pretty quick.

Instead of having my normal snack, which would have been Cheese Curls, I instead had two bites of these little mini cupcakes brought by one of our guests. And that was it. No wine or beer for me which really sucked. I feel a bit uncomfortable playing poker without a drink in my hand. But I made it though with full confidence that I haven’t broken my diet.
