So here we go.

My goal weight: 200 lbs

Pounds Lost: 0   Pounds to go: 61.8 lbs

Right off the bat I realize that getting my food ready to pack up and take to work is going a lot slower than I anticipated. I either need to get up earlier (fat chance) or I need to prep this the day before. It took a lot more time to prep my salad, fruit & bag my lunch & snacks that I anticipated.

*Ready to Drink Shake

Snack:

*Anytime Bar

2 cups garden salad
*Jenny Craig Dressing – Balsamic Vinegar

1 Fruit
6 Oz Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt

As I’m trying to gather up my food I figure to save time I will pop the sandwich in the microwave while I hunt down the food from the freezer. My first thought as I open the package of the Turkey, Bacon & Egg sandwich is, “Oh my God! WTF?” This thing is literally two bites. I have to laugh as I contemplate what kind of starvation I am setting myself up for. Sure hope the rest of this food isn’t the same. Did I just waste my money? I wonder.

I try to get cleaver with the shake. Denise has said that I can use the shake as a substitute for cream / sugar in my coffee. So I give it a try. It’s not bad, just sort of makes the coffee watered down. But it’s drinkable.

As far as the sandwich goes, not so good. The problem lies in the fact that it’s nuked frozen bread. So it’s spongy / chewy … definitely not “Good Eats” as Alton Brown would say.

I’m running way behind. So I pretty much just stuff all my breakfast in my face. It seemed to work because I wasn’t hungry later.

At first, I couldn’t figure out what the “Anytime” bars were. I was expecting them to be individually packaged like the other snacks but soon realized that they are all in one box.

Snacks & Lunch went pretty fine. The Southwest Chicken Fajita Bowl was tasty. Although I am really amazed at how small these portions are. But I guess that is what you get with a 1700 calorie diet.

The “9 almonds” thing is oddly specific. Don’t know how important it is to have exactly 9 almonds … all I have a this time is some mixed nuts so I’m going with “9 mixed nuts” for the first week.

Dinner. Opening up a bag with the Pizza is depressing. This thing is not even the size of one slice of pizza from Pizza Hut. That and a half avocado is all there is for dinner. Well, plus a S’mores bar for a snack later.

So here’s the thing. I’m not really hungry. I’m actually satisfied. Maybe it is the fact that I’m eating 5 times a day or the fact that I supplemented most of the food with fruits & vegetables it doesn’t feel to me that I’m starving at all. One would think by the size of the meals that they would be starving … but it really doesn’t.

So I’m basically shocked. Shocked at how little 1700 calories appears but how it can actually fill you up. I’m also shocked to think that I must have been consuming at least 3x that. I think we all are. It is really an eye opener.
